Navigating SEND in South Tyneside is a pilot drop-in programme running until December 2026. Delivered in partnership with Biddick Hall & Whiteleas Family Hub, the project brings together a range of local SEND services and organisations, including South Tyneside SENDIASS, South Tyneside Parent Carer Forum, The Toby Henderson Trust at The Autism Hub, and the Specialist Health Visitor for Children with Additional Needs.
The sessions are designed to support parents and carers who may be:
  • Beginning to explore possible SEND needs.
  • Awaiting an assessment or diagnosis.
  • Looking to better understand the support available for their child or young person.
By bringing a number of services together in one place, families will have the opportunity to access information, advice and guidance, ask questions, learn about local services, and explore available support pathways across South Tyneside.
